List of Cookies and what they do

Software: Google Analytics | Google Adwords
Purpose: Track Activity
Description: We use a cookie to annonymously track your activity so that we can see what’s popular on our site, where you came from, what works well and what needs improving. The cookie feeds this information back to Google, where we look at the data in something called Google Analytics. We also use another cookie provided by Google to for advertising using Google AdWords and Google Display. This cookie has two purposes. It can tell us that you arrived on our website courtesy of an advert we placed as well as tell us what you’re interested in, so that we can then tailor adverts that we serve to you off site, more appropriately.

Software: Hot Jar
Purpose: Track Activity
Description: Sometimes when we design and build websites, they aren’t always used as well as we would hope. So to make your experience with us as easy as possible, we use a cookie which allows us to see your activity whilst your visiting us. This means we can identify quickly if there are any broken links that you ar trying to use, or if you’re scrolling up or down in search of a function that is not obvious to you. The data sent is completely annonymous. It does not track every single user visit, just a sample of data randomly selected.

Software: Facebook Pixel
Purpose: Track Activity
Description: We love Facebook here at Rainworth SKODA! To try and help us create engaging posts that we know you’ll love, we use a tracking cookie that tells us what you’re interested in. That could be a used car, one of our amazing special offers or it could be that you’ve booked your car in with us for a service on our simple to use web form. The information we gather helps us to give you a more relevent experience with our Facebook promotions.

Software: Popups – WordPress Popup
Purpose: User Experience (UX)
Description: In order to make your visit to our website more enjoyable, we use pop ups to display information and forms that are relevant to your visit. Each of our pop ups uses a cookie which tells us that you’ve opened it, that way we know not to serve the popup to you again (in the case it is an automoatic pop up, as opposed to one requested by you). We don’t want to ruin your visit with information not relevent to you, so we use this cooke to help us.

Software: You Tube
Purpose: Track Activity
Description: This cookie is not technically served by us, however as you may see videos on our website that are hosted by You Tube, it’s only right that we tell you about them. Just like other activity tracking cookies, when you view a YouTube video (any video, not just hosted on our website), YouTube will install a tracking cookie which lets the team at YouTube HQ know all about your video viewing experience. They use this information to recommend other similar videos to you. The best way to see this, is at the end of any YouTube video, it will show you “Recommended Videos” – these are based on your viewing activity.

Software: Live Chat Inc
Purpose: User Experience (UX)
Description: Have you spoke to our friendly Live Chat team? They’re great! You may notice at the start of your visit, a popup by one of our team asking if they can help you. They will only ask you one, we don’t like to pester – sometimes it’s nice to just have a browse! So we don’t keep asking if you’d like help, we have to install a cookie on your computer which tells us that you’ve had your initial “Hello” for this visit, and that we should just leave you be. That’s all we use it for! Simple!

Software: SKODA Live Tour
Purpose: User Experience
Description: This is third party cookie, installed by SKODA UK. It’s only used by the team over at SKODA UK when you use the SKODA Live Tour function that appears on some of our new car pages. They use it to remember your name and contact details, should you have used the Live Tour feature before.
